This year marks the centenary of the ending of the First World War, when a generation of young men died and the lives of their families were changed forever. No previous war had involved so many fighting men nor seen the use of such destructive weapons. It was, so it was thought at the time, "the war to end all wars".
We are very pleased to have this opportunity to perform some of the wonderful contemporary choral songs written by composers of the time but also to invite you to join us in singing well known popular songs to celebrate the end of the war.
The well known Croscombe Frolics group will also read from contemporary letters and perform a sketch made famous by the Two Ronnies
Please come ready to sing and enjoy yourselves. We hope you will come in costume of the period; there will be a prize for the best fancy dress. There will be a cash bar.
